The cloth media disc microfilter uses a cloth filter, rotary disc, and pressure difference to mechanically filter impurities, particles, and microorganisms. It works by introducing water into the top of the disc, and after passing through the filter cloth, the small particles are trapped while the clean water passes through and gathers in the collection chamber. As more and more impurities build up on the filter cloth, the pressure difference will also increase. Once it reaches a certain limit, the filter cloth would need to be cleaned. To do that, the disc rotates to a designated cleaning device which then sprays water at high pressure, which removes all the impurities on the cloth, and returning the cleaning water to the sewer line. Afterwards, the filter cloth resumes its operation, continuing to clean the water source.
